Major Marketing Campaign to Support New Sky Channel on YouTube

Sky is hoping to combat its competitor threat, acquire new TV subscribers and trial fresh shows by launching a new YouTube channel that will offer full episodes of upcoming comedy and drama shows.

Available from Sunday (1 February), Sky First Episodes on YouTube will allow the public (both customers and non-customers) to get a first look at new episodes from programmes such as Sky Atlantic's The Tunnel, Sky Arts' A Young Doctor's Notebook and Sky 1's Moone Boy. The broadcaster has also said that more shows will be added "regularly" over the coming months.

The unveiling of Sky First Episodes and their new season of programming will be supported by a multi-million pound marketing campaign that will span terrestrial TV channels, print, online, outdoor and cinemas. The creative was designed by Inferno+Draftfcb, while media buying will be handled by Mediacom.

Sky Director of Entertainment, Marketing and Digital, Naomi Gibney, commented: "We're passionate about delivering truly great TV - and the best way of demonstrating this is to give people the opportunity to enjoy the shows for themselves. The combination of Sky First Episodes and a TV campaign featuring entire clips from our biggest and best series means that now everyone has the chance to sample Sky shows."
