Gumtree Takes Strong Steps to Boost its Brand Awareness
Having taken on its first Chief Customer Officer, Gioia Manetti, the classifieds website Gumtree is gearing to increase its popularity by positioning itself as a more "everyday" brand.
Their latest marketing campaign reflects this objective of boosting brand awareness - it highlights the personal interactions between people that form the basis of buying and selling on Gumtree.
Responsible for marketing, customer support and core product team at Gumtree, Manetti's remit is to build confidence in the site delivering a safe and successful experience, along with developing the business to be more customer-focused in order to reach its goal of becoming one of the top 10 most-visited sites in the UK.
In line with this, one of her first tasks will be to oversee the development of a new look and feel for the Gumtree brand across desktop, mobile and tablet. The launch of this revamp is expected in the third or fourth quarter of 2014.
Manetti commented: "We can become more and more a part of life for people... every day we always have something exciting we can sell or buy - whether it's the baby clothes they have grown out of or the old iPhone - there is always a good time to use Gumtree."
